As part of the 2026 admission campaign, the Kyiv Institute of Modern Psychology and Psychotherapy announces an essay competition for a study grant: «Why I Want to Become a Psychologist» to receive grants for undergraduate and graduate studies.

Grant support for Bachelor's degree applicants

Terms and conditions of the competition

1. The grant applicant (Applicant) must familiarize themselves with the admission conditions for ICEP in 2026.
2. Submit an application for admission (for applicants based on a previously earned higher education degree (junior bachelor, specialist, or master) who are submitting applications for admission to two forms of study (full-time and part-time), the essay may be submitted for consideration for only one of them)
3. Fill out the participant questionnaire
5. Write an essay (Appendix 6: Essay Requirements)

The participant questionnaire along with the essay and video files are submitted* via Google Form з July 19 through August 1, 2026, inclusive.

*This must be done after submitting an application to participate in the competitive selection process (for admission to the program).

Grant award

The winners are selected by the Academic Council of KISPP  August 14, 2026. The results of the contest are published on the KISPP Facebook page and on the official KISPP website.

Essay 1st place – Participants are eligible for free tuition in the KISPP bachelor’s program.

Essay, 2nd Place – Participants are eligible for a 50% discount on tuition for the KISPP bachelor's program.

Essay, 3rd Place – Participants are eligible for a 25% discount on tuition for the KISPP bachelor's program.

The winners of the contest are selected in two stages:
Stage 1: All essays submitted to the contest are reviewed for formal compliance with the contest rules (submission date, length, adherence to the topic, overall presentation, and compliance with the contest score). Entries that do not meet the criteria will not be accepted into the contest.
Stage 2: All works accepted for the competition are evaluated based on the following criteria:
– degree of independence;
– relevance to the topic and writing style;
– creativity and depth of expression;
– clarity, logical reasoning, and organization.

The winners are determined by a secret ballot of the KISPP Academic Council.

Appendix 6: Essay Requirements
  1. The essay must consist of two parts:
    – an essay on the given topic: «Why I Want to Become a Psychologist»;
    – reasoning Why I, specifically, am eligible for financial assistance.
  2. The text must be complete and clearly structured, and it must address the given topic and line of reasoning.
  3. The stylistic solution, structural organization of the text, and vocabulary must correspond to the given topic and the task set by the author.
  4. Length: 5,000 to 8,000 characters; Times New Roman font (sans serif); font size 14; line spacing 1,5.
  5. The essay writing language is Ukrainian, English.

Grant support for Master's degree applicants

Terms and conditions of the competition

1. The grant applicant (Applicant) must familiarize themselves with the admission conditions for ICEP in 2026.
2. Submit an application for admission (if applying for admission to two educational programs, the essay may be submitted for consideration to only one of them)
3.
The essay will be admitted to the competition provided that the applicant's competitive score is at least 170 points.
4. Fill out the participant questionnaire
5. Write an essay and create a video self-presentation based on the essay (Appendix 6: Essay and Video Requirements)

The participant's application form, along with the essay and video files, should be submitted via Google Form з from August 7 to August 22, 2026, inclusive.

*This must be done after submitting an application to participate in the competitive selection process (for admission to the program).

Grant award

The winners are selected by the Academic Council of KISPP  August 31, 2026. The results of the contest are published on the KISPP Facebook page and on the official KISPP website.

Essay, 2nd Place – Participants are eligible for a 50% discount on tuition for the KISPP master’s program.

Text:

    – an essay on the given topic: «Why I Want to Become a Psychologist»;
    – reasoning Why I, specifically, am eligible for financial assistance.
  2. The text must be complete and clearly structured, and it must address the given topic and line of reasoning.
  3. The stylistic solution, structural organization of the text, and vocabulary must correspond to the given topic and the task set by the author.

 Video:

  1. Video self-presentation (up to 3 minutes).
  2. The video should be based on the content of the essay, but not be a word-for-word reading of it, and should contain:
    – introduction (name, city);
    – information about yourself (education / background) and why you chose psychology;
    – personal experience or a moment that influenced this decision, as well as information on why you chose this specific program, and a brief concluding sentence.

Technical recommendations for the video:
– Duration: up to 3 minutes
- Format: MP4
– Quality: clear image and sound
– Camera: eye-level
- Lighting: face is clearly visible

25% discount provided: to military personnel; combatants.
10% discount provided: to the children of combat participants; to the children of war veterans; to children of those killed as a result of the war (including civilian casualties); to the participants of the Revolution of Dignity.

To receive the discount, you must provide a document confirming the relevant status.
