Student self-government of the Kyiv Institute of Modern Psychology and Psychotherapy is a form of participation of higher education students in the management of the Institute, which ensures the realization of their rights and interests in the fields of education, daily life, leisure, and the protection of the rights of the student community.

Student self-government is carried out on the principles of voluntariness, electivity, collegiality, transparency, equality of rights of students, and independence from administrative interference within the framework of the current legislation of Ukraine.

In their activities, student self-government bodies are guided by the Law of Ukraine «On Higher Education», the Law of Ukraine «On Education», regulatory legal acts of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Statute of the Institute, the Regulation on Student Self-Government of the Institute, as well as other current regulatory legal acts of Ukraine.
